The Trefoil Guild Cymru is an organisation for everyone aged 18 and over. It is a place to find friendship, get involved in new challenges or get active in your community. A place to give support and find comfort, they have a wide and welcoming network of members across the UK.

As part of the Guides, the Trefoil Guild remain part of the guiding movement but given recognition as a self-governing, self-financing body and responsible for former Guides in the United Kingdom and overseas territories. They fulfil Guide and Scout promises through community work.

Today it was a pleasure to attend the Annual Review of the Trefoil Guild Cymru at the Heronston Hotel, Bridgend, to hear the fantastic work and activity that members have achieved over the last year.

I am extremely grateful to President Margaret Routely, Chairperson Lesley Mathews and members of the Executive Committee for the kind invitation.

Guest speaker Grace Lewis, Lead Engineer of the exemplar car manufacturers… no, dream car creators - Aston Martin, gave a truly inspiring talk on her remarkable career. Such was the interesting and inspirational content, Ms Lewis should travel around Wales presenting her experiences to young people, it would certainly instil confidence, encouragement and belief to any young person who wants to work for a world leading, iconic brand.
